There is always lots to do in Centre Wellington if you're a senior. Here are some services offered at the Victoria Park Seniors' Centre:

 

  • Crafts for Sale
    Visit the Craft Shoppe at Victoria Park Seniors' Centre. Full of beautiful handmade items are made by our talented Craft and Quilting Group volunteers and are available for sale year 'round (gift certificates are available).The quilters will do custom quilts on request. Open Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. All proceeds support the Victoria Park Seniors' Centre.
  • Garden Fresh Box 
    A non-profit, fresh produce buying service created to help people access affordable fresh fruits and vegetables. Supporting local farmers, this service is operated by the Guelph Community Health Centre. The box content changes from month to month because fruits and vegetables are chosen in season when they are at peak nutritional value and they include a recipe sheet. To order, contact the Victoria Park Seniors' Centre. You must pay for your order by the 1st Friday of the month and you pick up your order on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Victoria Park Seniors' Centre between 12:00 - 4:00 pm. Bring your own grocery bags, the program runs year round. Cost is $20 for a large box or $15 small box (cash only). NEW: Online purchase now available for the Garden Fresh Box.   • Library, Newspapers, Puzzles and Coffee
    Drop by to read a book or do a jigsaw puzzle or borrow one to take home. Come out for coffee and browse through the newspapers. We accept donations of current magazines for our coffee table.
  • Monthly Calendar
    Be sure to pick up a copy of the monthly calendar, listing day-to-day programs at the Centre and menus for Wednesday lunches. Free copies are always available at the Centre or online .
  • Volunteer Opportunities
    Interested in volunteering at Victoria Park Seniors' Centre? You don't have to be a member to volunteer. There are a number of volunteer positions available.
  • Wednesday Lunch
    Meet old friends or make new ones while enjoying a delicious and nutritious lunch. Stay for a social afternoon of euchre, bridge, crafts (no charge for these activities if you come for lunch), also woodcarving or billiards (drop-in fee applies). Menus are listed in the Centre's monthly calendar and a menu is also posted at the Centre. Call ahead to reserve a seat, as sometimes lunch is sold-out! 12:00 Noon.  Please reserve your lunch by Friday 12:00 Noon by calling the centre and to inquire about cost.
