The Township of Centre Wellington's Planning Department is continually working on projects to better the Planning Process in Centre Wellington.
Projects can either be initated by the Planning Department, or be required prior to approval of a development.
The Township of Centre Wellington Official Plan identifies the need to complete a Secondary Plan for the North West Fergus development area. A subwatershed/stormwater management study is required as part of the Secondary Plan. The study has been divided into two components; Phase 1 is an assessment of the existing watershed's characteristics; and Phase 2 identifies development opportunities and constraints within the North West Fergus Secondary Plan study area.To date, two public open houses have been held. The first was held on November 7th, 2007. The purpose of the first open house was to 1) present the findings and recommendations of the final report for the Nichol Drain No. 1 Subwatershed Study: Phase 1 and 2) introduce the North West Fergus Secondary Plan Study process and present the existing conditions mapping.
The second open house was most recently held on June 18th, 2008. The purpose of the second open house was to 1) update participants on the work undertaken for the North West Fergus Secondary plan since the last open house on November 7th, 2007 and 2) introduce the Colborne Street Class Environmental Assessment (EA) that is being undertaken concurrently with the North West Fergus Secondary Plan.
