CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Saturday, June 16th, Centre Wellington is once again joining the rest of the province and throwing its Doors wide Open in celebration of community heritage – and to host another successful event, we need locations in Centre Wellington!
Doors Open showcases the buildings, natural spaces, infrastructure and cultural landscapes that shape and define communities. This free event provides residents and visitors with a unique opportunity to explore and enjoy these sometimes hidden and always interesting places and spaces creating not only an awareness but also excitement about local heritage.
Each year Doors Open boasts a different theme and this year the theme is "toward a fair and just society." Doors Open Ontario states that "this theme will give an opportunity to explore the progress we've made over the last 100 years since women's suffrage and the equality movement in Ontario's pluralistic society."
In Centre Wellington, we are currently seeking interesting sites to share their story and space. If you have a heritage building or a unique space that you think visitors may be interested in exploring (does not need to be related to the theme) we would like to hear from you about being a part of our local Doors Open event.
If you do not have a space to share but would like to be involved we are also looking for volunteers to provide support on the day as well as in the weeks leading up to the event.
Interested locations should contact Elizabeth at email@example.com by February 16, 2018.
