Welcome

The Township of Centre Wellington is the largest municipality in Wellington County and one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario with about 26,000 residents. It has a vibrant mix of industrial, commercial and residential sectors. We also host the largest selection of bed & breakfasts, inns and motels.

Centre Wellington was formed through the amalgamation of Fergus, Elora, and parts of Nichol, Pilkington, West Garafraxa and Eramosa Townships.

Explore natural limestone buildings, park areas, unique shops, antique venues, and our excellent restaurants. Experience one of our many world-class events. Participate in an artisan class; tour the Wellington County Museum. Let us share with you our Elora Cataract Trail Way, linking Elora, Fergus and Belwood, which connects this beautiful community we call home.

The Grand and Irvine Rivers create incredible vistas with glacier carved gorges and waterfalls. The Elora Gorge is well known natural attraction. Experience the brown trout fishing or tubing through these waterways.

The Grand River Conservation Authority has three magnificent parks in Centre Wellington, Belwood Lake, Elora Quarry and Elora Gorge Parks. Experience the excitement at Grand River Raceway and Slots. Culture abounds with the many live theatre, musical performances and art exhibits.
