Destination Animation Project Launch

Posted On Friday April 06, 2018

Centre Wellington - In 2017 the Elora and Fergus Destination Animation Strategic Co-Investment Project enabled the creation of six new experiences in Elora and Fergus that highlighted the DNA; natural setting, heritage town and arts and culture.

Based on the successful program launch last year and enthusiasm from the community to continue the program, The Township of Centre Wellington and Regional Tourism Organization Four (RTO4) are pleased to announce the launch of the 2018 Destination Animation Strategic Co-Investment Project to enable Elora and Fergus businesses, organizations and tourism stakeholders to create a new set of experiences for both visitors and residents.

The Destination Animation Strategic Co-Investment Project supports destination experiential projects on a matched basis. There will be an estimated $10,000 available for proposals, and individual applications may be for any amount between $500 and $10,000. The Destination Animation Strategic Co-Investment Project Selection Committee will review and award the proposals based on a list of criteria including alignment with Elora and Fergus's DNA, feasibility of the event, level of impact, and amount of collaboration among other criteria up to the limit of the fund.

Projects must be new or enhanced experiences, and funding cannot be applied toward capital or regular operational expenses. The first deadline for applications is Monday, April 30, 2018. As budget allows, applications received after the deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis, however there is no guarantee that resources will be available after the initial round.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their project, questions and eligibility before applying by contacting Deb Dalziel at  or 519-846-9691 Ext 380 or Karen Mitchell at or 519-271-7000 ext. 202.  The application can be found at
