Building Services Update

Posted On Tuesday March 24, 2020

CENTRE WELLINGTON – In response to COVID-19 and to limit the spread, Building Services has made some operational changes to ensure the safety of our staff.  Building inspections will resume on Thursday, March 26 with the following strict protocols:

  • Inspections will only be conducted for unoccupied buildings where no persons will be present on the day of the inspection.
  • Occupied residential buildings and/or properties will not be inspected.
  • Construction sites and/or buildings must be vacant of all persons on the day of the inspection.
  • Re-Inspections are a low priority.  Builders and contractors are to ensure the building is ready for inspection to the best of their ability.  Repeat Re-inspections result in unnecessary contact and time.
  • Building Officials will not inspect any construction site that is unsafe or found to be not adhering to the above protocols.
  • To book an appointment, call 519- 846-9691 ext. 907 or email

Applications for Building Permits will be accepted by email at

“We are making changes to our inspection processes in order to ensure the safety of our Township staff” said Mayor Kelly Linton.  “While we are firmly committed to our economy and local jobs, our priority at this time is ensuring the health and safety of our staff.  We know this is a difficult time for many people and thank you for your patience.”
