CENTRE WELLINGTON – As Township staff continue to move through Stage 3 of the Province’s reopening framework, the next step in this process will see the Victoria Park Seniors Centre reopen on Monday, October 26.  The centre will operate with reduced hours to support our gradual, phased in approach to re-opening in order to ensure the safety of customers and staff.

“Although our facility was closed abruptly due to COVID 19, I am very impressed at how our staff put in place many virtual opportunities for our seniors to keep in touch with us and one another throughout the pandemic” said Mayor Kelly Linton.  “From online fitness classes, seminars and even bingo, we managed to successfully connect with our seniors virtually.  Now it is time to open our doors and provide safe in-person support for our seniors.”

The Victoria Park Seniors Centre will welcome back seniors with limited programming and reduced hours, operating Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Registration for all programs will be required to ensure that proper capacity limits and social distancing guidelines are met.  Visitors/Members cannot enter the facility without being pre-registered for a program.  We encourage members to register online early to avoid disappointment as programs will have limited capacity.  Online registration will open on October 20 at 10 a.m. If you are unable to register online, please call 519-846-9691 ext. 204 for staff assistance over the phone or to receive information on our online registration virtual tutorials.

For seniors interested in attending fitness classes, staff are offering these classes at the CW Community Sportsplex.  Classes take place daily, Monday to Friday at 10 a.m. and opportunities range from moderate yoga to strength training and all around fitness.  Seniors wishing to participate, must pay and pre-register prior to attending.

For those who still prefer to work out from home – our virtual zoom sessions will continue to take place.  They are available at www.connectcw.ca.
