CENTRE WELLINGTON –
As identified in the Council approved Fire Master Plan a new Fire Inspector/Life Safety Educator position and the creation of two Deputy Chief Positions were included in the 2018 budget. As part of the implementation, Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue, along with Township staff have completed the hiring process for the two new Deputy Chiefs. Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue is thrilled to announce the two successful internal candidates who recently accepted their new positions.
Tom Mulvey, Deputy Chief - Prevention & Public Education
Tom started with the Centre Wellington Fire department in 1993 as a VFF. In 2003 he became full time and held the rank of District Chief / Public Safety Officer.
Jonathan Karn, Deputy Fire Chief - Training & Suppression
Jonathan started with the Centre Wellington Fire Department in 1999 and accepted the positon of Wellington County Training Officer in 2011.
Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue, through the approval of the Fire Master Plan and the 2018 Budget continues on a path that ensure the safety and long term viability of our volunteer fire and rescue suppression staff, while providing an effective and efficient service to our residents, commercial and institutional operations and visitors now and in the future.
