Libraries - Wellington County Services

Wellington County Child Care Services provides programs for early learning and child development and manages the licensed child care system in Wellington County. The Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington provides both child care and early years programs for families with young children.

The County of Wellington Solid Waste Services Division provides all garbage and green bin services for the Township. Residents participating in curbside garbage pickup must purchase pre-paid bags.

Centre Wellington residents and businesses may use any of the six County waste facilities.

Both the Belwood Waste Facility and the Elora Waste Facility accept small loads. The Belwood station also accepts wood and brush.

The County of Wellington is no longer responsible for the residential recycling collection program. Waste Management is now responsible for residential recycling in Wellington County. 

Additional Recycling Tips:

• Recycling collection is on the opposite week of garbage collection.
• Recycling is now a single-stream programme, that is, containers and paper packaging go together in the same cart. 
• Materials should be placed loose in carts. No bagging or bundling or stuffing inside boxes.
• Carts need to be at least 3 feet from vehicles, mailboxes, trees, poles, garbage bags, green bins, other carts, or any other obstructions so the automated collection arm can safely access the cart.
• Carts need to be placed with the wheels facing the house so the lid opens properly to empty materials into the truck.

Centre Wellington is home to three Wellington County Libraries located in Elora, Fergus and Aboyne.
