Township Seeking Public Input on Proposed Short-Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) and Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Establishments Licensing

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township is inviting residents to provide feedback on proposed regulations for Short Term Rental Accommodation (STRA) and Bed and Breakfast (B&B) Establishments Licensing.

Following Council discussions in 2025 and a public workshop to review options and address key concerns, a revised draft Licensing By-law has been prepared along with a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. Together, these updates are intended to provide a clear framework for where short-term rentals may operate and how they are regulated, helping to protect neighbourhood character, public safety, and community well-being.

Key elements of the proposal include updated definitions, maximum occupancy limits, inspection requirements, a licence cap, enforcement tools, and new zoning provisions to support the licensing framework.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft documents and share their feedback through Connect CW.

A public meeting regarding the proposed zoning changes will be held on March 23, 2026, with final consideration by Council anticipated at a future meeting of council.

Community input is an important part of this process. Visit www.connectcw.ca to learn more and submit your comments.
