CENTRE WELLINGTON – Tell us your thoughts about cannabis retail stores in Centre Wellington
The Province of Ontario has given municipalities until January 22, 2019 to opt in or out of private retail cannabis stores. The current options for municipalities are as follows;
A municipality may opt out as of January 22, 2019 and choose to opt in at a later date
If a municipality opts in as of January 22, 2019, they cannot chose to opt out at a later date

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Services are mourning the loss of retired Fire Chief Jack Karn, father to our Deputy Chief Jonathan Karn.  Jack passed away peacefully surrounded by family earlier this morning. 
Jack started with the Fergus Fire Department in 1974 and became the Fergus Fire Department Fire Chief in 1994 until 2003.  From 2003 until his retirement in 2011, Jack was the Assistant Chief of the Centre Wellington...

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Province proposes one-year extension (January 1, 2020) to moratorium on water bottling permits
On Tuesday, the Ministry of the Environment, Conservations and Parks (MECP) advised the Township that they have proposed an extension of the current moratorium on new or increasing permits to take groundwater to produce bottled water.  This would extend the moratorium from January, 2019, to January 1, 2020.
