CENTRE WELLINGTON – Sparky the Fire Safety Dog and a Fire Hose Challenge are only a few experiences that the Elora Fire Station will showcase during this year’s Open House. To round off National Fire Prevention Week (October 8 – 14, 2023), Centre Wellington Fire Rescue will be hosting an Open House on Saturday, October 14 at the Elora Fire Station from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Between October 2 and October 13, the Township will conduct annual watermain flushing.
To reduce customer inconvenience, watermain flushing operations are conducted overnight, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., Monday to Friday.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township of Centre Wellington has approximately 45 acres of land for the area's new business park. Located in the north-east area of Fergus, with easy access to Highway 6, the new business park will provide shovel-ready employment lands. The Township also has other municipal business park land available, at 101 Gregson Court and 970 Gartshore Street, Fergus.

WatermainFlushing_Fall2023Between Oct 2 nd and Oct 13 th , the Township of Centre Wellington will conduct annual watermain flushing. 
Over time, naturally occurring minerals found in our groundwater can build up as sediment in the pipes.  Watermain flushing is the process used to clean watermains of this sediment.  This is accomplished by flushing high velocity water through fire hydrants.  Watermain flushing improves water quality and only clean water is used in the process.
