Thank You for a Memorable Evening
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Leo Stands Alone Atlookan, his brother Elmer, and our partner Dalton Associates for a truly memorable evening of reflection, learning, and cultural sharing in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, September 30, 2025 at the Fergus Grand Theatre. Their presentations, stories, and performances offered powerful insights into the enduring impacts of residential schools and the importance of preserving and celebrating Indigenous culture and heritage.
The Township of Centre Wellington is committed to listening, learning, and building meaningful relationships with Indigenous peoples. This gathering is another step in that ongoing journey of collaboration, understanding, and respect. We recognize that reconciliation is not just one day—it is something we strive to practice every day.
We are grateful to everyone who joined us, and we look forward to continuing to walk this path together, fostering connection, awareness, and shared learning as we work toward a more inclusive and respectful community.
