Youth Programming

At the Fergus Grand Theatre, Youth Programming is more than just a creative outlet for our young theatre-goers - it is a cornerstone of a vibrant and connected community.

By offering young people opportunities to explore the performing arts, build confidence, and collaborate with their peers, these programs help nurture the next generation of storytellers, leaders, and creative thinkers. Investing in youth arts not only enriches individual lives but also strengthens the cultural fabric of Centre Wellington, ensuring theatre remains a dynamic, inclusive space for years to come.

2026 Feature Production: DuffleBag Theatre - Robin Hood

On May 26, local students had the opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre through the Township of Centre Wellington’s Theatre for Young Audiences Program at the Fergus Grand Theatre.

This year’s featured performance, Robin Hood by DuffleBag Theatre, brought the classic tale to life with plenty of humour, audience participation, and unforgettable moments. Students were invited to become part of the story, helping the cast create a unique and engaging theatrical experience.

The Theatre for Young Audiences Program is designed to introduce local students to professional live performance while fostering creativity, imagination, and an appreciation for the arts. The Township was thrilled to welcome school groups from across Centre Wellington for this exciting cultural experience.

Thank you to the teachers, students, and DuffleBag Theatre for making this year’s program such a success. We look forward to welcoming young audiences back to the Fergus Grand Theatre for future performances.

For the first time, the Theatre announced its first-ever March Break Theatre Program in early 2026.

This program was designed to allow students to flex their acting muscles while having fun, rehearsing a short play to perform for family and friends. This is the perfect cold-weather cure for any kid who's been bitten by the acting bug and is just itching to get on stage!

We are excited to see this program grow and evolve in the years to come.
