  • Part Time/Seasonal

A variety of part time/seasonal jobs are posted generally in the spring and fall. Opportunities include grounds maintenance work with the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments and winter maintenance work with the Public Works Department. Please check this site throughout the year.

Centre Wellington Fire Rescue is currently recruiting Volunteer Firefighters for our Elora and Fergus Stations.

Attendance at ONE of the following information sessions is MANDATORY.  All sessions are held at the Fergus Fire Station located at 250 Queen Street West.

    • Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 1:00pm

    • Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 7:00pm
    • Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 7:00pm

Please call 519-843-1950 to register for one of the above sessions.  Space is limited.  Our Fire Administration office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer on-call firefighter, consider the following:

Are You:

  • Physically fit and able to work under strenuous conditions
  • Able to attend regular training on week nights and some weekends
  • Able to obtain a DZ class license
  • Able to respond during day time and/or night time emergencies with no prior notice
  • Able to obtain the skills to control fires, assist in medical emergencies, and extricate patients safely

Do You:

  • Live within 3 km from the Elora or Fergus Fire Stations
  • Have a valid First Aid Certification
  • Want to increase your income (Firefighters receive an hourly rate and benefits)
  • Want to learn valuable Life Skills
  • Enjoy helping others in their time of need
