Centre Wellington Introduces a New Priority Registration Policy

CENTRE WELLINGTON – Starting in August 2025, the Township of Centre Wellington is introducing a Priority Registration Policy for select recreation programs. This new policy gives Centre Wellington residents early access to sign up for high-demand programs before registration opens to non-residents.

This change comes in response to growing demand for popular programs like pickleball, swimming lessons, day camps, and shinny hockey. Many residents have shared concerns about missing out on these programs due to limited space, so the goal is to make sure local residents have fair access while still welcoming participation from non-residents.

The policy will be rolled out in phases:

1. Pickleball Programs – starting August 2025
2. Fall Swimming Lessons – registration starting August 2025
3. Shinny Hockey Programs – starting October 2025
4. Day Camps – starting March 2026

Important Information about the Priority Registration Policy:

• Programs that fall under the Priority Registration Policy will be limited to residents of Centre Wellington for the first two days of registration.
• Before registration day, ensure your address information is up-to-date in the Township’s Registration Software System.
• To support this change, the Township is also updating the RZone – Respect and Responsibility Policy with current language and contact information.
