Certificates and Invitations

Invitation Process

Individuals and organizations wishing to invite the Mayor to an event must submit a formal request in writing to the Mayor's Office. Please be sure to include the date, time, location, and the Mayor's role during the event. This information can be sent in any of the following methods:

Process for Certificates

Certificates can be requested from the Mayor to commemorate anniversaries, birthdays, retirements, other special life events and special honours.

To request a certificate please contact Julie Bott by Email or phone 519.846.9691 x249.

Generally certificates are issued for birthdays of 80 years or more and anniversaries of 50 years or more, however other special requests will be considered. The Mayor is also happy to issue a certificate for a significant accomplishment by an individual or a group/team.

 

Process for Pin Requests

Township of Centre Wellington pins can be requested by writing a letter outlining the group or organization you represent, the purpose for the pins, the date of the event and how many pins are required. 

 

Community Delegations

Members of the public who wish to make presentations to Council on their own behalf or on behalf of special interest groups or organizations are called "Community Delegations."  Centre Wellington Council welcomes and encourages members of the public to comment on matters of interest to them. 

Before you decide to appear before Council or a Committee, you are encouraged to discuss your concerns with Township staff.  If your issue cannot be resolved, staff will assist you with the process of registering as a delegation. 

If you are interested in addressing Council or Committee of the Whole as a delegation, please submit a Community Delegation Form.  Staff in Legislative Services will review your request and schedule a date and time for the presentation.  The completed Community Delegation Form will become part of the agenda and all of the information contained in the form, including names, will be available to the public through the meeting agenda. 

If you wish to address Council regarding an item on the agenda, please contact Legislative Services.

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 for the purpose of registering a Community Delegation for a presentation to the Council of the Township of Centre Wellington. The requester's name and address, as well as any material submitted, become part of the public record, and may be published in a report to Council, included in a Council Agenda and posted on the Township's website. Council Priorities and Initiatives 2015-2018 

Progress Report

Staff were pleased to share with Council on Monday, April 25 a progress report since releasing Council's priorities and initiatives six months ago in September 2015.  View our report card and see how we are doing!

The strategic plan was approved on September 28 and now staff and Council will put action behind the top priorities that will have the most impact on overall quality of life now, and in the future.  This is about open and accountable government. 

The five strategies that Council will pursue during their term are:

Reliable Infrastructure
The Township will manage and upgrade the community's infrastructure assets in an environmentally responsible way

Healthy Growth
The Township will plan now for its inevitable growth, so that we retain a vibrant and accessible community and our high quality of life in the future

Economic Prosperity
The Township will help the business community to excel and expand and to create jobs, so that Centre Wellington's economic vitality keeps pace with its population

Pride of Place
Acting responsibly, the Township will continue to support community initiatives that foster pride in our community and enhance its amenities

Good Government
As a government, the Township will make well-informed decisions, operate efficiently, get results, communicate openly, and engage the public in all important decisions
