Centre Wellington Preparing to Resume Consistent Parking Enforcement
CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township is preparing to resume consistent parking enforcement across the community. In the coming weeks, staff will begin implementing updated enforcement processes as part of a strengthened, Township-led by-law enforcement program. This work will support fair and consistent enforcement of posted parking restrictions, community safety, and responsive municipal service.
To support this work, the Township is partnering with MRF Geosystems (MRF), a Canadian municipal technology provider with more than 30 years of experience in GIS and municipal technology. MRF’s solutions support municipal services, including by-law enforcement, licensing, parking administration, electronic ticketing, Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) processes, and mobile field operations.
Parking and by-law enforcement services will be delivered by Township staff. MRF will provide the technology platform to support field operations, electronic ticketing, parking administration, and related administrative processes.
Over the coming weeks, the Township will:
- Onboard and train enforcement staff
- Implement updated enforcement procedures and technology
- Introduce electronic ticketing; and
- Complete implementation work for AMPS-related enforcement and administrative processes
Paid parking, including the resident paid parking exemption program, remains paused while the Township considers next steps for a future paid-parking program. Any proposal to reintroduce paid parking will be brought forward to Council for consideration.
Posted parking restrictions remain in effect and will be enforced. This includes three-hour parking limits where signs indicate a three-hour maximum, as well as other applicable regulations, including accessible parking spaces, fire routes, school-zone restrictions, and seasonal overnight parking rules.
The Township will share further updates as implementation progresses and before any new paid-parking or enforcement processes take effect. We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to establish a reliable, consistent, Township-led parking enforcement service.
