Help Shape the Future of Belwood Hall
Community fundraising campaign launched to enhance a cherished gathering place overlooking Belwood Lake
CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township is inviting residents, businesses and supporters to help shape the future of Belwood Hall by contributing to a community fundraising campaign that will transform one of the Township's most treasured gathering places.
For generations, Belwood Hall has been the heart of the community—a place where neighbours celebrate milestones, families gather, community groups connect, and lasting memories are made. As the Township completes significant renovations to improve the building's accessibility, functionality and long-term sustainability, community donations will help bring an even bigger vision to life.
The Township has already committed to important improvements that include:
- Enhanced accessibility at the main entrance, including a new universal washroom.
- A full interior renovation of the main hall, servery and washrooms.
- HVAC and electrical upgrades, including the addition of air conditioning.
- Installation of a new on-site sewage system.
Now, the community has an opportunity to help create an even more welcoming destination by enhancing the building's exterior and surrounding grounds.
"Our vision is to honour Belwood Hall's history while creating a space that will serve future generations," said Mayor Shawn Watters. "With the support of our community, we can transform this beloved hall into an even more inviting place where people gather, celebrate and enjoy the incredible views of Belwood Lake."
The fundraising campaign has a goal of $200,000, with each milestone unlocking additional improvements:
- $160,000 – New board-and-batten exterior finishes to refresh the hall's appearance.
- $190,000 – Creation of a lakeside patio by opening up the beautiful views of Belwood Lake.
- $200,000 – A welcoming outdoor gathering space complete with patio furnishings and community seating.
And the vision doesn't stop there. Every additional dollar raised will support further enhancements that continue to strengthen Belwood Hall as a vibrant community destination.
Residents and businesses are encouraged to support the campaign and become part of Belwood Hall's next chapter.
