Paid Parking in Downtown Elora to Begin on May 8

CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township will move forward with implementing paid parking in Downtown Elora beginning May 8, 2026, following a brief postponement earlier this year.

Since the delay, the Township has completed the necessary preparations to support rollout, including system readiness, signage installation, and the launch of the Online Residential Paid Parking Exemption Program.

The program is designed to improve parking availability and turnover in high-demand areas, while continuing to support residents and local businesses.

Through the Online Residential Paid Parking Exemption Program, eligible residential property owners and tenants in Centre Wellington can register up to four vehicles per residence to park for free in Downtown Elora.

The Paid Parking Program includes two parking zones:

  • Zone 1: Paid parking with a 3-hour time limit to support high turnover
  • Zone 2: Paid parking for longer-term use, up to 24 hours in accordance with the existing by-law

Paid parking will be in effect seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and parking regulations and time limits will continue to be enforced.

The Township encourages residents to register for the exemption program in advance of the launch date.  For more information, or to register for the Online Residential Paid Parking Exemption Program, visit:
