Thinking of running for Council?
To run for the office of Mayor, Councillor, or School Board Trustee for the 2026 Municipal Election, you must file nomination papers before the deadline on Friday, August 21, at 2:00 PM.
All nominations must be filed in person or by an agent acting on behalf of the nominee at the Township Municipal Office, Legislative Services, 1 MacDonald Square, Elora.

The Township of Centre Wellington (Elora & Fergus Tourism) and the Elora Fergus Arts Council invite you to be a part of Culture Days 2024.
This past Wednesday evening, on World Theatre Day (March 27), the Fergus Grand Theatre unveiled the artists and shows that will be part of its 2024-2025 presenting season, simply entitled “Presenting with Purpose.”
Saturday, April 6th is National Tartan Day, and as part of the Tartan Day festivities being held in downtown Fergus all weekend long the Fergus Grand Theatre is pleased to present Dufflebag Theatre’s version of MacBeth on Saturday at 2pm.
The Fergus Grand Theatre is pleased to present Dance for All, a mixed program of classical and contemporary ballet from Ballet Jörgen, one of Canada’s premiere ballet companies. The show comes to the Fergus stage for one performance only on Friday, April 5th at 8 pm.
Heritage Week is celebrated annually across Ontario during the third week of February, kicking off on federal Heritage Day, Monday, February 19th this year.
