Corporate Communications

The Township of Centre Wellington's Corporate Communications serves as the hub of connection, information dissemination, and engagement within the community. The primary goal is to foster transparency, build trust, and amplify the municipalities voice across diverse channels.

The department orchestrates strategic communication initiatives to ensure residents and the broader public are informed and engaged. Responsibilities of the department encompass a wide array of functions, including media relations, internal and external communications, public affairs, crisis management, and digital outreach.

Through press releases, newsletters, social media platforms, and the municipality website(s), the department disseminates timely and relevant information on civic matters, initiatives, events, and policies - ensuring coherence in messaging across all platforms.

In 2025, we connected with community members to learn from their experiences and hear their ideas about what meaningful engagement looks like. This input, along with research on other Canadian municipalities' practices and international engagement standards, was used to inform the Township's first-ever Community Engagement Charter and Strategy.

In December 2025, Council approved the Charter and Strategy. This document will continue to evolve as our practice of Community Engagement grows.

The Township of Centre Wellington meets twice a month, typically on the second and fourth Monday of the month. Join us in person in the Council Chamber (1 MacDonald Square, Elora) or via the livestream.

It will serve as an additional communication tool between the Chief Administration Officer and residents.
