Paid Parking in Downtown Elora

Paid parking in Downtown Elora will begin on May 8, 2026.

Residents can park for free by registering their license plate (up to 4 license plates per household).

There are two parking zones to support short-term (3-hour) and long-term (24-hour) parking. Residents who register their plates still have to abide by the posted times and signage.

Enforcement of time limits and parking regulations will continue.

Property & Maintenance

The Township of Centre Wellington's Property Standards By-law and Clean Yards By-law regulate the maintenance and occupancy of lands and buildings within the Township.

These standards are put in place to protect the health and safety of occupants as well as the general public. Standards prescribed in these by-laws are intended to outline the reasonable maintenance and upkeep of yards, buildings and properties.

All property owners are required to repair and maintain their property according to these standards, including owners of residential rental properties, unless there is an agreement between the property owner and a lessee or occupant that assigns maintenance and repair responsibility to the lessee or occupant.

Non-compliance with Orders issued under either By-law may result in fines and/or remediation without further notice. All costs associated with any Township remedial work may be either invoiced to the property owner(s), initiated by court proceedings, or by adding the costs, including interest and applicable fees as outline in the Fees and Charges By-law, to the tax roll and collected in the same manner as municipal taxes.

Property Owners are entitled to appeal a Property Standards Order to the Property Standards Committee within the required time frame. The appeal is subject to fees as outlined in the Township's Fes and Charges By-law. 

In order to appeal a Property Standards Order, you must provide notice by completing and returning the Property Standards Notice of Appeal form and pay any required fee. 

Notice of Appeal must be received on or before 4:30pm on the final date for appeal. Send by register mail or
delivered to: Township of Centre Wellington, Attention to the Property Standards Appeal Committee, 1
MacDonald Square, Elora ON N0B 1S0. Appeals received after the final date to appeal as listed on the Oder
to Comply will not be processed and returned to the appellant.
