CW Community Sportsplex

COVID-19 Update

The Township's first priority is our residents.

The Township has made significant changes to services and programming in response to new ongoing developments with the COVID-19 pandemic.  All recreation facilities, including the CW Community Sportsplex, the Elora Community Centre and the Belwood Hall will be closed until July 3.  No new bookings or registration for programs and services will be accepted until further notice.

To contact our community services staff directly about cancellations or refunds, please call 519-846-9691 ext. 903

In response to the Province’s announcement and Phase 1 of Ontario’s Framework for Re-opening the Province permitting the re-opening of some outdoor recreational amenities, Township staff have been working toward re-opening its outdoor amenities.

As of Friday, May 22, the following outdoor facilities/amenities have been opened:

  • CW Dog Park
  • Sports fields (team activities are not permitted)
  • Structures at parks and open spaces.  Residents can once again use picnic tables, benches or shelters provided that users maintain a physical distance of at least two metres. Outdoor furniture, bleachers, backstops, and player benches are not sanitized and we remind residents to wash or sanitize their hands thoroughly after use.
  • Tennis courts on Tower St. and at the CW Community Sportsplex.  We ask that members of the public adhere to the rules and regulations of the tennis courts to protect users and the community.  The rules of the courts and the Provincial regulations must be followed so that the Township will not be forced to close these outdoor amenities going forward.  Refer to the hours of operation for available tennis play.

While parks were never closed for walk-through traffic, residents can now enjoy a few more activities in their local parks and green spaces with members of their own household. At this time, skateparks and basketball courts will remain closed until staff can safely open these facilities.  All playgrounds, park washrooms, and splashpads, remain closed in accordance with the extension of Provincial Orders. Water bottle filling stations will remain closed, participants are reminded to bring their own water to these amenities.

When using outdoor recreation facilities, members of the public are asked to:

  • Maintain a physical distance of at least two metres or six feet, except for members of the same household
  • Not gathering in groups of more than five
  • Wear non-medical masks where possible
  • Practice good cough etiquette
  • Wash and/or sanitize their hands often
